The World Human Forum is a think and do tank, a knowledge and action hub designed to help build a brighter future for all. A global citizens’ initiative which highlights and interconnects the innovative forces of our planet towards the creation of a genuine ecological civilisation.
Our work
From inspiring ideas to concrete projects, from unique gatherings in Delphi to Delphic Echoes around the world, we believe that the way forward is by assuming our personal responsibility, becoming engaged citizens, and acting for the common-good. Our approach is holistic and garners contributions from a broad spectrum of disciplines. Our objective is to amplify the transformative power of change-makers.

Delphi
Delphi is our anchor and symbolic point of reference. In antiquity, it led the Classical world to question assumptions, interpretations, and identities, to “know thyself”. Poet Angelos Sikelianos and his wife Eva Palmer believed that Delphi could serve as a focal point for solidarity and, in 1927, organised the 1st Delphic Festival as an expression of their vision of the Delphic Idea. In 2027, 100 years later, the WHF re-generates the Delphic Idea for the future of humanity, initiating the 3rd Delphic Festival.

It was also one of antiquity’s most important cosmopolitan centres, where numerous languages were spoken and diverse faiths coexisted. Today, the island is an open-air museum, and its ancient ruins are already affected by rising sea levels.

Home to the ancient Sanctuary of Demeter and Persephone, Elefsina went on, from the late 19th century onwards, to become one of Greece’s major industrial centres. Every September, the New Eleusis Symposia offer a unique platform that seeks to shape a contemporary narrative of transformation and unity, fostering personal and societal change.

Gymnasia played a decisive role in the physical and intellectual education of young men in antiquity. In 335 BC, Aristotle established his philosophical school here, teaching for about twelve years. Organised by NCSR “Demokritos” and the WHF and held annually at the Athens Conservatoire, next to the archaeological site of the Lyceum, the Lyceum Project is an interdisciplinary initiative that connects philosophy with artificial intelligence.
